Leadership — Founder Role Definition
TODO — the explicit re-definition of the founder’s role at each revenue stage. Most agencies stall at $1M because the founder is still doing the work. This fixes that on purpose, before burnout does it by accident.
Who owns it
Section titled “Who owns it”TODO — Founder, with the leadership team holding the line.
- TODO — write down the 3 to 5 things only the founder can do (vision, key sales, key relationships, founder-led content). Everything else gets delegated on a documented timeline.
- TODO — name the next hire that takes work off the founder’s desk. Ramp them. Audit weekly: is the founder still doing the thing the new hire owns? If yes, the hire is not ramped.
- TODO — quarterly founder calendar audit: how many hours on the 3 to 5 things versus operational firefighting? Below 70% on the strategic 3 to 5, the next role is overdue.
Definition of done
Section titled “Definition of done”TODO — founder spending above 70% of working hours on the strategic 3 to 5, no operational task on the founder’s plate that someone else could own.
